Vimla Patil is one of the foremost women journalists and social workers of India. In 1973, she became the editor of Femina. She was chosen as the leading woman journalist of India by the U.S. State Department in 1975 and as the 'Woman Executive of the Year' by the Indian Institute of Marketing Management in 1986.
